Ahhhhhhhh... *exhale*
Sorry if my blog is looking a bit strange. I think blogspot is having some technical difficulties. Or I've forgotten how to use a computer. Whichever. *shrug*
So Emma told us the other day that the temperature isn't actually the 32 to 38 degrees that we thought it was. Apparently Taiwan doesn't tell you the temperature including humidity. So at times, it was more like 60!!! Yes, you read that correctly. 60 frick'n degrees. Whew! Not now of course. The temperature has actually been quite nice. One might even say "refreshing". Refreshing. *nod*
Ryan and I had a very pleasant day yesterday. Study, meditate, nap, lunch at the Thai cafe, coffee and cheesecake, window shopping, movie. Awwww, it was like a date. Fancy schmancy. Just so you know, coconut juice is da' bomb. That is my official ruling on the matter. I think I've found a new love. Move over Ryan, here comes fresh coconut. MMmmmm.... mmmmm...
I wanted to share something with you from my Yoga Tradition study guide. I thought it was great... To set it up a little bit, it's talking about Karma yoga, specifically referring to the Bhagavad Gita.
What Krishna is saying here is that all activity arises spontaneously as part of the program of Nature. The idea that "I do this or that" is delusional, a fatal presumption that we habitually superimpose on what is actually occurring. Thus, even our thoughts are not really generated by us. Thoughts, like all processes of Nature, are simply arising. We decide to type into a computer, play the piano, ride a bicycle, or speak to a friend -- but these activities, according to Krishna, are not effects of the ego-personality in relation to which they seem to be occurring. In fact, the ego-sense itself arises as one of the spontaneous activities of Nature, presuming itself to be the actor of certain deeds and the presuming itself to suffer their consequences.
And that, my friends, is that. A short update from me... keep'n ya' in the proverbial loop. I miss you all. Love. -n.
