What: 20 minutes seated practice
Focus: First Foundation / Exercise 1 - 4
Form clarified (thanks, Frank!). Sitting with the experience of breath, aware of the quality of breathing, expanding awareness to include the whole body and perhaps calmness that then arises. No sleep (really... none). Excitable phone call before bedtime. Residue of said phone call in sit. Along with a heaviness brought on by fatigue. Heaviness allowed for a quietness in the mind. Slow movement in the mind... not so much whirling as waves. Moving to and from breath awareness like slow lapping waves of the ocean. Sat with calmness twice... once it arose on its own. Second, moved from brief daydreaming to imagining body in savasana. Deep relaxation. Awareness encompassing experience of breathing in the body and feeling of calm.
Time: 12pm
What: One-hour asana practice
Focus: First Foundation / Exercise 1 - 4
First hot class in over a week. Long holds. Able to watch the pattern of aversion and instinct to move towards reaction (getting out of the posture). Headache building throughout class. Little moments of nausea. Took savasana or child's pose often. Watching heart rate, breath, body while class continues around me.
