Time: 8:10am
What: 25 minutes asana / 20 minutes seated practice
Focus: Second Foundation / Exercises 5 - 8 (Ana-)

The great thing about paying attention to sensations and feeling tone is that it doesn't require perfection. There can be thoughts, a tight chest, stuffy nose, and your job is to notice how it all feels and what feeling tone (pleasant, unpleasant, or neutral) arises. Without needing it to be any different than it is. Welcome to this morning!

Aversion met me on the sticky mat. In fact, aversion met me on my pillow with thoughts of the weekend, one more full day of work, two classes to teach in the evening, soreness, fatigue, party plans, house guests... oy vey. Decided to meet aversion half way. Continued plan to practice - despite what the mind had to say about it - yet chose to take a gentler approach with a few shorter holds.

As described above, seated practice was filled with all sorts of experience. Not mentioned above was a brief (and comical) moment of impatience. Tension arises in the form of impatience. Girl reacts to this tension by picking up the clock and checking the time. BONG! The alarm goes off in her hand. Silliness...
