Time: 8:15am
What: 30 minutes asana / 10 minutes walking meditation
Focus: Third Foundation / Exercises 13 - 15 (Sati-)

Planning to start the Fourth Foundation on Saturday. Fully commit to the new foundation - reading the material, reviewing the message board, practicing for a longer period of time (woot... day off!).

Practiced a combination of yin poses, class planning, and puppy training. Felt less like practice and more like sitting on the floor training the puppy not to chew the yoga mat. But with breath, patience, and a laid-back attitude (ain't no big thang).

Didn't have time for seated practice. Chose to do walking meditation instead. Noticed a feeling / idea that walking meditation is not officially "practice". Though I also noticed a distinct awareness in this type of practice. Aware of the feet on the ground, the sensations of walking, the mind being aware. Also noticed those moments when the mind wandered, because the awareness of walking disappears entirely. Distinctly different doing walking meditation than simply walking. Everyday walking to and fro can be very unmindful - zoned out in thought, listening to music, mind dulled by the rhythm of moving, with a feeling of wanting to BE THERE ALREADY! Walking meditation is patient. It is awake. It is aware when it wanders to thought. It is aware of movement and feeling. Definitely a practice... who was I kidding?! [Insert winking face here]
