I got Ryan to actually eat fruit!!
There is so much to tell and nothing to tell at all. It's rather bizarre. I felt a little bit overwhelmed the other day... the streets being so busy and our apartment small. But overall the experience has been wicked. Free time is mostly being spent buying food or things for the apartment. We don't have a stove (hotplate, microwave, etc.), so we're using the kettle mostly or eating out. I think Ryan mentioned the Buddhist Vegetarian buffet restaurants in his blog?? Well the jist of it is that it's a veggie buffet that you can fill a plate, weigh it and pay approximately $5. It's the cheapest way to eat humanly possible. Ryan and I went to the little fruit market around the corner from our apartment. Eric (who eats mostly raw food) took us there on our first night, and the ladies that run it absolutely love him! So that sort of poured over onto us. We bought a bunch of fruit that I had never seen before... just for the experience and now I have made it into a lovely fruit salad to have for breakfast.
I think eating fruit salad for breakfast will counter all the greasey fried tofu and noodles we eat throughout the rest of the day... that's the hope. Ryan is hilarious when it comes to fruit. He doesn't eat it. I think that he says it's a waste of time... it takes too long to eat or something?? He calls pears the "bastard brother of apples". Who doesn't like pears?! Anyways, I made him a bowl of fruit salad for breakfast thinking that he totally wouldn't eat it... but HE DID! And better yet, he loved it. It's the dragon fruit that got him. ;)
Other news? Hmmm... my chopstick use is much improving. Ryan is big upping me for my handy use of this food tool... though he's probably just trying to make me feel better. :) Oh, and I teach today for the first time. I'll blog about it tomorrow I guess.
Alright... well that's all I have for this morning. I encourage all you lovely lovelies to comment (thanks Nikki) and to send me emails telling me what's going on with you. How's home treat'n ya'? What am I missing? Come onnnnn...
Lots of love.

Sounds nice...so when are you coming back? :p heehee. Miss ya hon. I'm glad you are settling in so well and the apartment looks fab. Nothing much new here. Some gals and I are now referring to ourselves as "Sex in the Village" so scandalous and witty tales of country life should follow. The most exciting and note worthy detail of today is this: The grass is turning green. It is true. I dug up the snow and investigated this phenomenon. I thought you would be very interested to hear about it. That fruit also looks good. Keep the updates flowing and have fun teaching tomorrow/today. Cheerios, Kimmy
