Hello from the other side of the world. I don't have anything in particular to update you on... just thought I would reassure the Moms that we are alive and healthy... and to give any of you that are perusing the internet something to read.
Mark your calendars, in two days, we will have officially been in Taiwan for one month. Well maybe two-three days... we left Canada on the 12th of March. You can decide. What do I have to show for living in an Asian country for a month? Um... nothing. I still can only say three words... wait, maybe I know about 5 or 6. I guess that's an improvement.
Duoxiao qian = How much money?
Ni hao = Hello
Zaijian = Goodbye
Xiexie = Thank you
Duoxie = Many thanks
Ryan and I bought a dry erase board so that we could start memorizing numbers. I'm hoping to be able to take the Mandarin classes that the studio offers, as soon as it is back up and running (which should be by Friday apparently).
What else? What else...
I applied for a scholorship (and was accepted) for YREC's Yoga History and Philosophy course. It's an 800-hour (approx. 3 year) correspondence course. I'm pretty excited... In other news, Ryan and I found a couch out in the hallway and dragged it into our apartment... so now we have another piece of furniture for our one room. Yay us! I am trying to pressure Alison to start saving some money so that she can come and visit. I found a ticket on Cheapticketscanada.com for $1350 without taxes... which isn't bad compared to the $1950 that Ryan and I paid each. Hmmm... AND I have now tackled the mail. We went to the night market and bought some little birthday gifts for the dear Ali B. and managed to send them in the mail ALL BY OURSELVES. Now if the package actually arrives, then I will celebrate with cupcakes.
Okay... Ryan has now woken from his little nap and I am going to get off this here computer. I hope to hear from all of you soon. Thinking of you. Love. -n.
