Holy crap, July 12th was a while ago. Hmmm...
I work hard for my money, and now I have spent it all on a flight ticket home (you can sing it like a little song). This appears to be the most expensive short one week hiatus away from teaching yoga and eating noodles EVER! It is next to impossible to get out of Taiwan (to go anywhere) within the months of July and August. Flights are booked. Apparently you need to book a minimum of 6 months in advance... which is absolute madness. I think I ended up spending all the cash ($2274) because I felt a little "stuck". Like a hostage held by the airlines of Taiwan. LET ME OUT!!!
And now it is done. So feel free to hand me money, if you see me. And you WILL see me... sometime between the days of August 6th and 14th. Mark it in your calendars. And empty your bank accounts, stuff the money into envelopes, seal them and write my name on it. Thanks.
Soooooo... I have quite a few plans squeezed into the days that I will be there. Some were to make me money, others cost me money. Now (sadly) one of them has fallen through. Last night this inspired a neverending pout. But this morning, after a little sleep, I am feeling a little less saddened by it. I will figure something out. *nod* Moral of the story (there is always a moral), make sure to not only hand me envelopes of money BUT also love. Envelopes of love. Um... er... or visit me, offer me food, offer me beers or coffee or cheesecake, smile real big, be happy, etc. etc. etc. If I am drunk, please note that Taiwan has not offered many situations where alcohol was involved. So it's not my fault. Oh and a couple other things... NO I will not eat noodles. Yes, my hair has grown. And KARUNA means compassion.
Am I a little cocky and fiesty this morning? And I haven't had a coffee yet. Oh la la laaaaa...
Ryan has typed up a clever little blog for your viewing pleasure. Please feel free to "check it!".
Just so you know, I have not spent ALL of my time locked up in a yoga studio. Emma, Bean, Ryan and I went to Luxy last Friday night. Jesse is hosting now or something... which means we get in for free with only a minor amount of hassle. Just like the rest of the white people. We were there to appreciate some house night resident dj something blah blah blah. However it was bad. Bad news bear. So instead, we went to the LAMEST room next door which was GREAT! Hiphop room, here we come. Our night was filled with 200-350NT drinks, Busta Rhymes and Lil' Jon [insert Lil' Jon-ism here]. There were bartenders spinning bottles... on fire. *shrug* And Luxy girls! What, you might ask, are Luxy girls? Small Asian ladies wearing very little clothing, dancing on the stage as a job (in mediocrity). The boys love 'em. Emma and I decided that we could show the Luxy girls up. I wanna be a Luxy girl. Is "Asian" a prerequisite? So the two of us ended up having a fan club. No word of a lie. These girls were set up directly behind us, to the left, and would clap and scream whenever we turned around. Some guy was behind us, to the right, who had followed us there with an exclamation of "Wow!". And that, my friends, was our funfilled night. This moment has been brought to you by "Only in Taiwan".
Coffee and peanut butter sandwich time, my friends. Some things never change.
See you soon soon soon. Two weeks to be exact. xx. -n.
