Ambiguity is one of life's lessons.

Just thought I'd mention that.

Interesting how a situation can mold to how you describe it. To what someone says. Perception is everything. And nothing ever works out the way you expect it to. So stop expecting anything. Ohhhh... I should babble more often. This stuff is brilliant. Or maybe incredibly boring. See? Perception is everything... blah blah blah. Silly girl.

So Ryan and I are going to Thailand soon soon soon. November 7th, here we come! I had recently gotten distracted from planning our little Thailand trip. Distracted by the idea of returning to Canada. Packed my suitcase and everything. Those Virgo traits take over sometimes and then I just have to ORGANIZE. But after a couple conversations and an email, we decided to just wait it out and be patient. I have a contract, after all. So now life is ambiguous. We could leave and be home for Christmas. We could also stay out the contract and enjoy the rest of our time in Taiwan. Really... we could do anything. Sometimes I'm under the impression that patience is overrated. Anyone with me on this?

So back to Thailand. That is where life pointed me.

Focus on the greatness that is spending 2 weeks in Thailand. Indeed. The 10 days have now become 14. My attention was redirected to reading the Lonely Planet. Underlining things of importance. Booking our domestic flights from Bangkok to Ko Samui. And booking the first beach hut that we plan to stay in. Yum. Now that we have some extra days, we're spending two nights in Ko Samui (at Shambala Beach Bungalows). Then we'll take a boat to the cheaper and more secluded Ko Pha-ngan. After 10 days chillin' on the beach, we'll head back to Bangkok and spend 4 days in the madness that is. That's the flexible and open to whatever happens "plan". Beach living - beautiful ocean, sunshine, coconuts, thai massages, mosquitos, cold water shower, squat toilets. Followed by city life, visiting temples, admiring statues of Buddha, eating curry. Fun fun fun.

Yesterday Ryan and I went on an adventure to find supplies. Money pouches, bug repellent, first aid kit, etc. Because we're staying in cheaper, more rural accommodations, we need to be more prepared. So we went into every travelling store (think budget Taiwanese versions of Mountain Equipment Co-op) down this particular street... and found nothing. Oh wait. I found a padlock for my backpack. Most exciting of all, we checked this store across the street from our apartment, and I found a hot pink money pouch. HOT pink! It floats. You can blow air into it. Wear it with you in the water, so you don't have to leave your valuables on the beach. HILARIOUS! I love it. Ryan hates it. We had the servers at Thai cafe (our regular eatery) laughing at us about it... Good times.

That is pretty much that. I wrote a blog last week... but then deleted it. I'm silly. I hope you are all doing great. I haven't heard much from home. I'm going on the theory that no news is good news. Rybot and I will keep you updated on the situation. And we'll all just have to wait and see what happens. Bleeeeehhhhhh to the waiting. Ah ha haaaaaa. Love you. Miss you. xx. -n.

P.S. It's over 30degrees outside. The sun is shining. I found a fake fur-lined Abercrombie hoodie. It's white. And pimp'n. If we come home in December, then I'm TOTALLY buying it! Yes! Maybe I'll buy some Taiwanese bling to go along with it. What do you think? 3" diamond-studded microphone? Or maybe a skull and crossbones? You let me know. :)
