Time: 8:55am
What: 20 minutes seated practice
Focus: First Foundation / Exercise 7 - 8 (Sati-)

To control a cow is to put it in a large pasture...
- Shunryu Suzuki

Last nights sleep was minimal and disrupted (darn cats...). Sitting is heavy, tired, distracted. Began with simple breath awareness and moved into body scan. Mind kept wandering from the body scan, nodding off, generally struggling with the exercise. Decided to give the mind/cow a large pasture. Returned to simple breath awareness, staying awake, aware of the body (in parts) without the added structure. Breath was soft, erratic, irregular. Gaze was fuzzy and sleepy on the floor. Stomach was gurgling and actively digesting. Body was heavy and grounded. Bong. The end.
