I'll keep this short. Because I have a new tv to watch! Yep, Ryan and I broke down and bought a tv to replace our randomly turning off 'Proton' . Oh, Proton how we'll miss you. We found a posting on tealit.com for a 3 year old television for 3000 NT (about $110). So we took a cab to a strangers house, paid her some cash, took the tv and then took a cab home. Now I can return to my short-lived hobby of watching Mandarin movies with English subtitles.
I would like to request a moment of silence for our dearest Betty and Proton. Betty saw her end (or decapitation, not necessarily death) when the window was absent-mindedly left open and the ever-dangerous wind send her catipulting to the floor. We returned home from our tv purchasing endeavour to find her sprawled on the floor... flowers in one corner and stalk/pot/leaves in another. We would like to remember Proton for his Disney cartoons in Mandarin and Betty for her beauty and size that astounded all.
.............................
In other news, Ryan and I returned to IKEA for more treasures for the apartment. We did not spend a ridiculous amount of money, but rather bought some tealights, picture frames, a pillow and a desklamp... all for 800 NT ($30).
Oh shit, I can't believe I didn't mention this sooner! There was an electrical fire at the studio. Apparently the fire did very little damage, but the sprinkler system managed to damage some things including the floor. Now the studio will be closed for about 2 weeks, so that they can replace the floor. I feel bad for the owners/managers... The new studio just opened this week, so things were finally going to settle down for them, and now this happens... But they seem like strong people who have it together... and I suppose every situation offers something for us to learn. Now you're wondering if that means that I get a holiday for 2 weeks? The answer is I don't think so... I will be scheduled at the new studio at Tien Mu (which is a 45 minute commute from our apartment).
So that's the news. Oh, and I got to talk to my dear friend Alison yesterday... or was that this morning? No yesterday. It was great! Definately made me feel less homesick. Though I feel for her, having to deal with daily stress of GMPAC (that's code). If you're reading this and have any impact on her job experience at all --- be nice and take it easy buddies(enjoy)! And that officially is both my rant and news for the day. Be good lovelies. xo. -n.
