29 March 2006

So apparently I have many things to say these past couple days. I bet it's due to the lack of teaching in which to keep me busy.... hopefully it's keeping you at least mildly entertained. I'm hoping to be concise this evening... it's almost 11 o'clock and I've been out all day long.

(Thought... have you ever read the word "I" repeated so much in one paragraph?)

Moving on. Today was a day full of adventure led my other people. Laura and Elisa invited me along to their girls day out, hosted by one of the students at the studio, Vivienne. Vivienne is the most adorable person EVER! She was super excited to show us different parts of Taiwan... We started the day by going out for lunch at a Buddhist restaurant. Vivienne ordered way too much food for us... and then a gentleman at the restaurant sent us some food to "build a relationship" with us?! Strangeness... and the food was bizarre. Called "lion's head", it sort of looked like a strange stewey mix of brains... but vegetarian. No thank you sir. We then did a tour of the mountains, various hot spring facilities and finally ended by soaking ourselves in the natural hot springs at the other side of the mountain. The hot springs were amazing. Seperate pools for men and women. Buck ass naked. Three hot pools at different temperatures and one cold pool. We spent a little bit more than an hour there. Now I smell like sulphur (translation: stinky rotten eggs). It made my skin all pink, pruney and super soft and my whole body really relaxed and tired. We then ventured our tired buns back down the mountain, stopping at a tiny food stand nestled in the mountains, with open walls where you could see the great view of the flora and fauna. We had deep-fried sweet potatoes and the MOST amazing ginger soup that I have ever tasted. I'm going to try to copy it some day soon...

That's that story told in a very concise manner...

When I got home, Jonny was there back from Thailand and hanging out with Ryan. He took us out, showing us some of the cool places in the city. We talked 'yoga' (also known as talking shop) and discussed Ryan going back to Thailand with him in a couple days (we'll keep ya' posted on that one). All in all, it was definately worth dragging my (by that time) tired lazy ass around for! THEN on our way home, as Ryan and I are walking hand-in-hand down Zhongxiao street (picture Yonge street... but more chinese), we pass RON! I know that this means next to nothing to most of you... but for those that attended the ol' Fashion Design at Ryerson, you'll be mildly interested or even excited. Ron was one of my fellow students... Can you imagine? Walking down the street on the other side of the world and who do you pass by? Someone you know of course! Apparently he was called into military service, and when he is done he plans on returning to Canada. Very odd, no?

And that is all my tired little brain can scrape together this evening... Sorry if the writing holds less pizazz than normal or even some spelling and grammatical errors (God forbid!). I will post the pictures once I get my camera back. Oh, and Ryan has written a couple blogs recently - one in particular about our poor fish phil who passed away yesterday - so check out his myspace page. LOVE LOVE LOVE. -n.
