What do you think about travelling to Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam? As a bit of a tour? Or spending a month in Australia? Of course nobody actually answers these blog questions, so I suppose I'm technically asking myself.
Ultimately, I want to travel to India. But somehow, I feel a little too much pressure when I ponder that scenerio (strange, yes?). I started looking through the Lonely Planet India yesterday and just thought... damn this place is big. Suggestions and thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Especially if you've done any of this travelling yourself. Oui oui.
Part of the strange pressure has to do with money and time. I haven't quite figured out the time line that is my life. But I know that from April 22 to May 18th, I would like to be in New York at the Jivamukti Teacher training... which means that I need to continue to work and save money. This presents challenge number two (or two million)... With the desire to do the teacher training, and the task of saving said money, how do I follow my newly developed inclination to travel and then return to Toronto? A Toronto that presents no reasonable employment opportunities?
So these have been my thoughts.
However all is well in Taiwan. Ryan and I have been hanging out being lazy. Teaching has been enjoyable. The weather is definately less hot. And there is a cool breeze blowing through my wall of open windows... something I don't think I've experienced since moving here. Lovely. Laura (Moksha teacher) has left for Vietnam and Cambodia, before she heads off to teach some yoga in Trinidad. Eric and Chris left for Thailand the other day. People are shuffling about these parts. Two new Ashtanga teachers arrive in the first week of September... which promises to throw everything up into a kafuffle. And I can't seem to find anything interesting to do in these parts. Shopping and eating not being my idea of a good time (jokes joke jokes). I was thinking of asking SPACE to relocate me to Tien Mu. It's much more Western (more foreigners and English)... plus it has trees instead of shopping. But maybe not. Ryan is still trying to figure out what to do once his visitor visa expires. Which is soon... September 10th or 11th. I'm hoping he can at least renew it for another 30 days. Giving me enough time to decide what I'll want to do. I can't possibly imagine living here without him. I know... that sounds lame. But we seem to stick together... and it works well for us. *shrug* If he stays until October, then we can travel for a month... he can return to Toronto, me to Taiwan... and then see what happens. Um... er... or something? I just make this shit up as I go along. Oh, oh, Emma is going to Hawaii for the month of November. MMmmmm... Hawaii. Maybe she can pack me in her suitcase. Like an extra pair of jeans or something. Good idea.
Alright. That, my friends, is that. For now. Talk to you soon.
Your friend,
nicole.
