Writing blogs from your bed is astoundingly more FUN! Especially while watching Equilibrium. I think that Taiwan makes everything better. Every bad movie that I've previously seen in Toronto, is somehow GREAT in Taiwan. Without a Paddle, freak'n hilarious and somehow nostalgic. Equilibrium, a odd reminder of the book 1984. George Orwell is my literary hero. It's true.

Did I mention I was eating french toast? Yep. This is a full-on multitasking experience: french toast, bed-sitting, movie-watching, blog writing... Greatness. I wonder if I'll all of a sudden start typing the dialogue of the movie. Or get maple syrup all over the bed and keyboard. That would be fantastic.

Today is my day off. Days off are special and only come once per week.

So Missy Elliot is coming to Taipei. I'm not really much of a Missy fan... but I feel a little bit like this would be an experience not to be missed. As previously mentioned, things are better in Taiwan. Not better as in 'this is the best place in the world to live, I'm never leaving' but better as in the biggest running joke ever known. Take the strange pop culture that is Missy Elliot, mix in some alcohol, and a large crowd of 'cool' urban Taipei folks... Whew! Now all I have to do is decide if I want to spend 900NT on it. We shall see. We shall see.

Please excuse my double blogging. This is taken from my other blog:

Ryan and I spent the afternoon yesterday (after teaching two classes and having some yummy pancakes for brekky) at Xi-men. Have I told you about this place before? Xi-men is Taipei's shopping area for the young and cool. Hip Japanese tourists and whatnot. Teenagers... Kids still in their school uniforms. I was in search of new jewelery for my lovely healing lip piercing, so we spent the afternoon amongst all the cool that Taipei has to offer... Highlights included: knee-high GOLD converse hightops, pirate bling in every size and shape imaginable, sailor-striped kitten heels, a diamond-studded microphone on a chain in both gold and silver, toys of all varieties, and much much much much more...

If it sparkles, has a skull or an anchor on it, or is bling-related in any way, then it is IN TAIWAN!!!

What did I manage to wrangle for myself?? Six pairs of little socks for a total of 100NT, all in checkers, skulls, cherries, and stripes. How cool is that?! I also managed to find THE most badass pair of sunglasses. All other sunglasses can now perish. And I found some jewelery for the lip. The original mission. However I'm not sure if it is what I wanted... so later tonight we will readventure out into the big bad city of Taipei.

Okay... so this multitasking thing is more difficult than I expected. All of a sudden I'm feeling sleepy. Maybe it's the french toast... or maybe I'm exhausting too much brainpower by using both the computer AND the television. I've decided that Lucy (my laptop) is a zombie. She likes to eat brains... usually mine. xx. -n.
