Functioning without the usual comforts.

That is life at the moment. What might a girl like me consider to be "the usual comforts"? A pot. A knife. A coffeemaker. Some dishes. But, I may tell you, I am a creative girl. Not to brag, of course. And people are giving (thank you). So our household has managed to accumulate a frying pan (among other things). Used instead of a pot or kettle to boil water in. To make the most disgusting instant coffee known to mankind. Good morning! Ah ha haaa...

So here we are. Toronto. Some things are surprisingly the same. Faces are the same. Friends are still greatness. Kensington Market is still a comfortable fit. The streets are all in the same place (surprise!). Other things are uncomfortably different. Uncomfortable, you may ask? Well... how does one respond to "Oh you're back already?". Hmmm... hilarity. And the Virgo-nature in this here lady has made surrendering into the unknown (jobless financial abyss) quite a challenge. Hoorah! But people always say that money seems to work itself out. Except for those folks you see without homes on the cold streets and sidewalks. Not them. They don't say that.

Wait... how'd we get here? Well nevermind that.

Rybot and I have managed to wrangle our old apartment. Which is a rather bizarre feeling. Almost like the past 9 months didn't happen. Like we never left. Except no, we don't work at the same place. No, we're not returning to our old jobs. But thank you, yes, it was a great place to work. Apparently this blog entry will be all gibberish. AHHH-mazing! We've decided not to place a single thing (except the fridge) in the same place. Which can be difficult when the nails are still up from the pictures and whatnot that we took down 9 months ago. But we have been successful so far. The livingroom is now a loft-style bedroom, with breakfast nook and computer desk. The bedroom is now a nice cozy tv room. Be amazed at our originality! I lost sleep over this idea... because I am lame. Lovely maybe, but definately a smidge lame [insert silly smile here].

Let's make a list (because lists are fun)... random thoughts:
  • Grilled veggie sandwiches are greatness.
  • Living simply is refreshing.
  • Being alone for the first time in months is quite boring and a lil' lonely.
  • I like it.
  • Sore throats are dull.
  • Atmosphere has officially won my heart.
  • I really should brush my teeth. It's almost 6PM.
  • I'm gross.
  • My toes are freezing. Why am I not wearing socks?
Alright. Well enough of my silliness. You may notice that the title of my blog has changed slightly. No longer the story of a girl in life, yoga and Taiwan. We've expanded our range. Across continents. Though I'm not particularly sure who will read this blog thing when they're going to see me the very next day. Hmmm... I wonder. Peace, carrots and cuddles.xx.-n.
