Time: 7:55am
What: 15 minutes seated practice
Focus: "Du-sa-ni-ma" (inhalations and exhalations)

In my usual groove, I approached the cushion a little behind schedule this morning. As I went to sit down, happy to count my inhalations, I thought "Oh sh*t, it's that du-sa-ni-ma thing today". Decided to make a "cheat sheet". Placed it on the floor two feet in front of the cushion. With eyes partially open and gaze soft, I was able to easily follow along. My hope is to have it memorized soon (cheat sheets are for... cheaters... ha ha). Stayed relatively on task... I am guessing that without the cheat sheet, the mind will be more prone to getting lost (we shall see). Noticed that the mind wanted to speed ahead and leave the breath in its dust. With the increase in concentration arose a sense of impatience towards the end of the sit. Came back to breath with the reassurance to trust that the alarm was not broken and would eventually bong (it did).

Time: 5:55pm
What: 10 minutes seated practice / 15 minutes supported savasana
Focus: "Du-sa-ni-ma" (inhalations and exhalations)

Girlfriend clicking away on Yoville (facebook application). Click, click, click. Irritation. Tension in the breath and posture. Click, click, click. Acceptance. Ease. Click, click, click. Thoughts about Master's program, university courses, TYS - amidst the form of du, sa, ni, ma, sa, ni, ma, du, ni, ma, du, sa, ma, du, sa, ni. Practiced 15 minutes of supported savasana. Body scan and relaxation. Aware of thoughts, surroundings, and subtle movement of breath. Perhaps a little bit of sleeping, too (oops!).
