What: 30 minutes asana / 20 minutes seated practice
Focus: Third Foundation / Exercises 9 - 12 (Ana-)
Have been using a free podcast as guided practice. A little bit of external discipline or motivation. Moving to the instruction of another. Listening. Shining a light on patterns of aversion however subtle.
Read exercises 9 - 12 in Breathe! prior to sitting. Aware of the mind in the mind. Noticed the natural occurrence of thoughts and how those thoughts quiet when the light of awareness is shone on them. New focus felt a bit like an internal science experiment.
Set the alarm for 25 minutes. Looked at the clock twice. Got off the cushion at 20 minutes. Antsy, running late, not used to the extra 5 minutes (longest five minutes in eternity, apparently). Better luck tomorrow.
