What: 25 minutes asana / 25 minutes seated practice
Focus: Third Foundation / Exercises 9 - 12 (Ana-)
Mental formations took the shape of planning. Planning yoga sequence, intention, instructions. And reviewing. Reviewing conversations that stuck (over and over and over again). Pondered how the mind moves to "zone out" in random thought-activity versus being present with breath and stillness or movement. Hmmm...
An example came to mind...
Mental formations are like an ocean. Sometimes you can observe the expansiveness of the ocean with its turbulence and waves. While other times, you get sucked down into the undercurrent without a real concept of time or your body in space.
Found this interesting:
...the main 'work' of the Third Foundation: Seeing a Mental Formation AS a Mental Formation. If we fail to see that, we take each and every mental formation as "truth" and then it dictates to us our further thoughts and actions.
