Time: 8:32am
What: 30 minutes asana / 20 minutes seated practice
Focus: Fourth Foundation / Exercises 13 - 16 (Ana-)

Practiced the most delicious yin sequence in preparation for this evening's class. Found the sequence in an old notebook. Notes from a workshop with Noel something-or-other. Mmmm...

Seated practice was all about... itching. Feeling at itch on the ear, neck, scalp, forehead. Itching EVERYWHERE. Brought attention to the feeling of the itch. Watching for impermanence, desire, cessation, and letting go. Interesting the subtleties these teachings are pointing towards. I expected the impermanence/desire/cessation/letting go to be like banging a pot & pan, it was more like a whisper on a windy day. There was desire for the itch to go away. I was able to bring awareness to this desire, and with the understanding that the itch would not last forever, I was able to allow the urgency of the desire to melt away. There was a letting go, and eventually the itch did dissipate and dissolve.

... only to be replaced by a new once. Ah ha haaaa... torturous.
